How do "collabs" of this level even work? So I take it one or two of those people provide individual loops and beats. The vocalists make some vocal recordings and send them to a mixer and then a producer? Don't get me wrong, these are some freakin hot beets I just feel like it's a little overcooked, you know? Too many chefs in the kitchen workin on these beets.

Not a fan of the earlier work when he was with switch but I forgot that diplo got with jillionare and walshy. I REALLY love the indian influence of that song. The jamaican vibe was.......eeeehhhhhh.......Sorry, but I hated the previous 2 albums because that style isn't for me. THis new stuff? I dig it. But still I made my own little beats and remixes for my radio show in college and got to interview a lot of smaller EDM talents and get access to some of their stuff. I feel like when you get too many artists and vocalists and all their associated assistants and whatnot involved it sometimes ends in things getting "overproduced". It's one thing to have a few different opinions and input to bounce ideas off of but get too many voices and then no one ends up happy lol.
If you've never heard of him, check out SupergreenX a.k.a. SGX . Dude is a master. He regularly released a few of his songs as the individual tracks and challenge users to make a remix of his album. It amazes me how good of product a single person can do and how clearly it reflects them because of it. here's a sample -
Also for fun, check out his own self-programmed little remixing toy to remix his song "coactive" - http://www.sgxmusic.com/coactive.htm

I love all kinds of Jamaican reggae, be it Dub, Roots, or Dancehall so those influences in Major Lazer are my favorite thing in the group.
